Cachoeira da Índia, located in Balneário João Raposo, in Conservatória, is a natural refuge that charms those seeking tranquility beyond the region's famous serestas. The highlight of the place is an enigmatic life-size sculpture made of bronze by the artist from Minas Gerais, Vilma Noel, weighing approximately one hundred kilograms. Although the waterfall's name honors the natives who inhabited the region, the artwork does not properly represent an indigenous woman, but rather a mythological figure linked to water. Inspired by the tribes of the Jequitinhonha Valley, the statue features curious details, such as fins that descend to the back instead of a headdress, and is positioned in a prayer pose, suggesting it is an aquatic entity.
